Picklance is an online, high-quality freelance job platform where Clients can post jobs and Freelancers can bid on those jobs and work together using advanced collaborative tools and a safe financial transaction system.
Companies advertise their requirements on Picklance and freelancers registered with Picklance can bid on the projects. Companies have a wide choice and can choose from our qualified pool of freelancers, finding someone with the skills and experience they require.
Companies have access to a global network of freelancers which means more qualified professionals to choose from. This helps them by increasing their competitiveness through better services, but also reducing their costs through by allowing freelancers to bid on projects.
Freelancers can benefit from qualified British and international companies posting their projects on Picklance. The advanced collaboration tools Picklance provides facilitate their interaction with clients, while a fair pricing policy, along with a safe payment system, give them the necessary peace of mind to make Picklance their favourite freelancing platform. Freelancers can also work with exisiting or previous clients in a more secure way.
On Picklance, projects fall into the following categories: Marketing-SEO, Web, Software & IT, Design & Multimedia and Management.
Furthermore, there are a variety of jobs within each of these categories that are of interest to freelancers and agencies. You can redesign a website, write code for a newsletter, carry out competitive analysis research, design a logo, help a company with email marketing and many other tasks. To get a complete overview, check out the projects yourself!
At Picklance, we believe that the value of a professional service cannot be measured by the time necessary to deliver it, nor do we consider monitoring our freelancers in order to check how long they’ve worked on a specific task as an ethically fair approach. Instead, we encourage Clients to value the project in terms of value delivered to their organisations, and paying a fair amount to their freelancer accordingly. Nevertheless, we know that delivering a project on time is a priority for our freelancers: that’s why we've provided our users with a range of project management tools to track their projects.
Payments and Finance
Safety and reliability are our highest priorities. Picklance applies up-to-date SSL certificates and encryption across our whole platform: we don’t protect just your financial transactions but also all your sensitive business related information!
We are partnered with companies like Barclays (for British users only), Paypal and Skrill (former Moneybookers) to assure the best quality standards for your money.
For British users, we deal exclusively through Barclays (both for accepting bank transfer payments or paying the due amount to our freelancers). For international users, we manage online payments through Paypal and Skrill, two of the biggest and most reliable online money transfer services providers.
We accept all major credit cards through Paypal. Even if you don't have a Paypal account, you can use it to pay by credit card.
Being a British company, we only accept GBP(£).
'TRASST balance' is the amount of money which is currently frozen for running projects. The money cannot be withdrawn if the project is not yet completed or in dispute.
'Current balance' is the amount of money which is cleared and ready for withdrawal by the freelancer.
When a Client releases a partial or full amount to his/her freelancer, this amount of money is automatically moved from the freelancer’s TRASST balance to the Current balance and made available for withdrawal.
On Picklance you will never be charged for unwanted membership plan subscriptions. When a paid plan expires, you will automatically be reassigned to a free plan. You will be left free to choose whether or not you want to renew your paid subscription.
Picklance provides both the freelancer and the Client with an invoice for the services directly sold from Picklance. If you are a Client and you need an invoice for the amount paid on your project you should contact your freelancer. All freelancers are obliged to provide you with an invoice, as stated in our terms of service.
The working area tools are a set of modular online collaborative features which can be accessed and used only when working on a project. The level of access depends on the membership plan subscribed to by both Client and freelancer. When a Client and a freelancer who have different levels of access (according to their membership plans) work together on a project, the most advanced features of both plans will me made available to both of them, regardless of which level of access they normally have.
We use a procedure to protect both Clients and freelancers. By paying your project in advance your freelancer is assured of the fact that the project has been budgeted. Nevertheless, the amount paid is frozen in your TRASST account: you can choose when to release money to your freelancer during the project. You can even choose if you want to release the money in multiple payments and by how much. If you are not satisfied with the performance of your freelancer, you can ask us to get a full or partial refund for the amount paid before releasing it.
We advise you to communicate with your freelancer to solve the problem using a collaborative approach. If you can't reach a solution, you can open an arbitration process through our customer service. We will analyse the case for you and we will come to a final decision on your case. The decision taken is final and cannot be challenged afterwards.
This decision is up to the Client who posts the project. However, to increase your chances of winning a project, make sure you have a complete and up-to-date profile, carefully read the Client’s requirements, be 100% sure that your skills match with what is required and provide a compelling application. Before accepting the project be sure of having discussed all the details.
We use a procedure to protect both Clients and freelancers. When you accept a project your Client is asked to deposit the whole amount to our TRASST payment service. You can check the payment has been deposited on your account page: you will see a transaction for the amount of the project and your TRASST balance amount increased. However you can withdraw that amount of money only when the Client has released a partial or full amount to you. Be sure to discuss payment with your Client, you can ask to be paid in installments throughout the project or receive the full amount at the end of the project. However, be assured that if your Client does not release any payment, your TRASST payment will be released automatically to you after 30 days (on the condition that there is no arbitration opened on it).
If you are a British user, you are entitled to withdraw your money through a Bank Transfer. Whether you are a British user or an International user you are entitled to withdraw your money through your Paypal Skrill account. We cannot provide other methods of payment, so make sure you can receive your money through one of the above methods.
